Perth: gateway to Western Australia

With plenty of boutiques, art galleries, eateries, and beautiful people, Perth is certainly a place to see, and with its ample hotels and hostels, visiting is a breeze!

Situated on the Swan River, the capital city boasts beautiful weather, clean beaches, and picture-perfect scenery.

With over 80 kilometres of white sandy beaches, there is no shortage of seaside fun; take a dip in the ocean or try your hand at surfing! A stroll along the beautiful Swan River or through the Kings Park botanical gardens offers an excellent sampling of Perth's natural scenery, while the treetop walk provides a unique opportunity to view both the beauty of the city and the splendor of the Australian outdoors.

With its reputation as a world-renowned food and wine region, do not miss out on the indulgence of good food in a relaxed atmosphere.  Try a lazy lunch in one of the many waterfront open-air cafés, or venture to one of the many free barbecue pits or picnic spots for good food with good people in a beautiful setting.

For some indoor fun, take advantage of the free buses around the CBD. For a taste of culture, try a tour of the Art Gallery of WA, the Swan Bells Tower, or the Perth Mint.

If some retail therapy is in order, the up-market of King Street is a great place to be. High-quality department stores can also be found in the Murray Street and Hay  Street malls.

If sports are your thing, you can catch a game of cricket, rugby, or Aussie Rules at one of the sporting stadiums. Even with its reputation for sunny days, the fun doesn't have to end when the sun goes down. The Northbridge, Mount Lawley, Leederville, and Subiaco areas are known for their buzzing nightlife, while Cottesloe and Scarborough provide a more laid-back setting, ideal for surfer-types.

Shutterbugs can jump on the ferry to South Perth for a dazzling picture of the world-famous Perth skyline, with its glittering lights reflecting off the Swan River.

Nowhere else in the world can you experience and interact with such unique natural attractions and friendly people. Do not miss out on  the truly authentic Australian experience; Western Australia is waiting for you!
